APOGΣΣ Mars SSD, Taking You to Another World

Taipei, Taiwan-Walton Chaintech has announced the release of the APOGEE Mars SSD, the solid state drive specifically engineered for hardcore gamers and other high-end users. Chaintech’s research has indicated that there has been a void in the gamers market in terms of mass portable storage, whereby operating systems and system-intensive software can be run seamlessly via an external hard drive. It is with these users in mind that Chaintech has created the APOGEE Mars SSD.

Standard SSDs have read speeds between 149MB/sec and 163 MB/sec and write speeds between 89MB/sec and 142MB/sec. However, the APOGEE Mars SSD operates with a high end, state-of-the-art controller chip combined with 512MB Mobile SDRAM which increases read speeds to 250MB/sec and write speeds to 180MB/sec, roughly 50% and 30% faster, respectively. With less than 1ms fast random access times, the APOGEE Mars SSD fulfills all the specifications needed to smoothly run graphic intensive games and applications.
